Steve Jones Article Lands the Cover of Linux World

Steve Jones from Stanford University says:

“Success in High Performance Computing is synonymous with using Rocks Clusters. I’ve been successful in building many clusters over the years and am able to effectively manage a huge amount of systems entirely based on using Rocks.”

OK, so I drink the kool-aid… but I also write about it. The latest article made the front page of Linux World (March), “Rapid Cluster Deployment: From delivery to Production in Hours”. The story follows a diary format of one of the latest clusters we added within our group. Thanks to all the team at Rocks, it was a great success, and there are many more clusters to come!

Quadrics Releases Quadrics Roll for Rocks 4.1

Raimondo Forlin from Quadrics announces:

Quadrics today announces the release of the Rocks 4.1 (Fuji) Roll.

In addition to the Quadrics device drivers and libraries, the new roll allows third party schedulers support and seamless integration with Sun Grid Engine.

Quadrics’ Resource Management System (RMS), a licensed scheduler, is also included in the roll. RMS complements the unique ease of installation provided by Rocks, with simplicity of cluster administration.

Download

The roll is available for i386 and x86_64 architectures and can be downloaded at Quadrics web site.
